Summer Camp Staff

The City of Arcata Recreation Division is now accepting applications for a variety of summer camp positions. Camp staff are responsible for planning, creating, and implementing camp curriculum, securing supplies, meeting with parents, and leading activities. Camps include Art, Redwood Day Camp, Adventure, Skate, Sports and more. Each unique job description can be found on the Arcata Recreation Division's website: https://www.cityofarcata.org/rec

Applicant Qualifications: Qualified applicants must be 18 years of age and must be certified in CPR and First Aid prior to the first day of employment. Applicants must have experience working with children. Skills and experience specific to the camp you are applying to are a plus.

Pay range varies with each position: $16.90 - $21.237 (applicants are typically hired on at the first two steps of the pay scale)

Program Hours and Shifts: Camps are in session Monday-Friday with both full day and half day options. Some hours are required in the spring for training, planning, and preparation. Camps run for 9 weeks during the summer from June 15th through August 14th, 2026.
