Job Description

Grassroots Marketing Lead - LA / NYC / Other cities Theatrical Release and NGO Outreach

We are the team behind an upcoming indie drama, a social noir hitting theaters this July, a movie exploring the undocumented immigrant experience in US.

We have one of the best PR firms handling our publicity, and we have a good following on Instagram.

We are looking for a Grassroots Distribution Lead to run our LA, NYC and other cities field operations. You will be building the coalition that fills the seats.

THE MISSION:

We have a "Civic Cinema" model: 50% of our share of the box office receipts go to immigrant advocacy NGOs in the areas the film is shown. Your job is to connect the movie to the movement.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO:

Pitch to local organizations, and NGOs in the immigrant advocacy space for partnerships. Let them know this is a fund-raising opportunity for them with no extra effort, and a rallying point for their members and followers.

Act as the face of the film for theater managers and exhibitors. Convince the exhibitors and theater owners to give us screen...we have folks waiting to buy tickets.

Help produce any opening weekend events with major guest speakers. Any other support for the Producers, distributing posters to theaters, quality checks of prints etc.

WHO WE NEED:

You want a "Director of Marketing" or “Head of Field Operations” credit on your resume before you turn 30.

You know LA and/or NYC, you are comfortable in making phone calls, good communication chops, a flair for marketing/sales etc.

You are organized. You can manage a spreadsheet of 50 partners without losing your mind.

Extra bonus if you speak a second language (Spanish, Mandarin, etc.).

TO APPLY:

Reply with your resume and/or LinkedIn and a cover letter explaining why you think you are a good fit.
