Full job description
Daytime & Friday night dish washing, kitchen prep and some cleaning. The dishwasher /prep person is often helping baker and chefs with food prep. We often have weekend special events.

Dishwasher & Kitchen Prep

Overview:
We are looking for a reliable, fast-paced Dishwasher & Prep Cook to join our café team. This role is essential to keeping our kitchen running smoothly during high-volume service. The ideal candidate works efficiently, handles equipment and dishware carefully, and brings basic knife skills to assist with food preparation. This position is 3 days per week with some additional shifts on some weekends.

Responsibilities:

Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment
Maintain a clean, organized dish and prep area at all times
Support kitchen team with basic food prep (washing, chopping, portioning, etc.)
Help receive and store deliveries, rotate stock, and minimize waste
Follow health, safety, and sanitation standards
Handle dishware and equipment carefully to avoid breakage
Keep pace during busy periods while maintaining quality and accuracy
Assist with closing duties, including breakdown, cleaning, and waste removal
Requirements:

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Previous kitchen or restaurant experience
Basic knife skills and willingness to learn more
Good communication and teamwork skills
Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
Positive attitude and commitment to cleanliness and safety
Bonus Skills (not required):

Food handler certification
