Job Description
Greet and Assist People
Greet residents, guests or contractors in a cordial manner, and assist them to the degree possible while maintaining assigned responsibilities at the front desk. The concierge learns the names of residents in order to provide quality personalized service. Additionally, the concierge secures resident approval before sending up an unknown guest, visitor, or contractor and may take personal messages for residents and deliver them when the resident returns to the building.
Respond to Inquiries
Listening to and responding to questions from the residents. For example, residents frequently ask about building rules, building amenities, building maintenance, etc. They may also ask about coffee shops, restaurants, retail stores, and other important places in the vicinity. They may also share complaints or concerns about building related matters, which the concierge may need to relay to co-workers at The Ormonde.
Monitor Safety
The concierge must stay alert during their entire shift in order to screen for security. As the first point of contact with people entering the building, the concierge looks out for suspicious activity and may check for identification or ask visitors to log in. In addition, they constantly inspect the building for safety, patrolling all areas, reporting damages, and reviewing surveillance.
Accept and Record Packages
The concierge receives mail and packages from a variety of courier services (e.g., Federal Express, UPS, Special Delivery) and records and holds these in safe storage until picked up by the intended recipient. To maximize clarity, the concierge keeps a record of deliveries and inform the recipients right after arrival.
Perform Administrative Tasks
The concierg performs other administrative tasks as requested by the Building Supervisor and/or the Property Manager. This includes tasks such as keeping records of resident phone numbers, frequent guests, preferences and local maintenance and service providers. It also includes assisting other staff at The Ormonde when necessary, such helping to clear sidewalks during a winter storm or assisting in cleaning the lobby after an unanticipated accident.
