Job Opportunity: Commercial Business Development Manager – Landscape & Horticulture
Location: New York City (Five Boroughs) Experience: 3+ Years in Commercial Landscape Sales & Account Management

We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager specializing in Large-Scale Commercial Landscape Maintenance. This role is dedicated to expanding our footprint within NYC’s premier commercial real estate sectors, including Class-A office buildings, retail campuses, corporate HQs, and large-scale residential developments.

The ideal candidate has a deep rolodex of property managers and facility directors and a sophisticated understanding of the long-term lifecycle of commercial landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Growth: Identify and capture high-value landscape maintenance contracts for large-scale commercial properties across the five boroughs.

Strategic Bidding: Lead the RFP (Request for Proposal) process, including site walk-throughs, take-offs, and competitive pricing strategies for complex maintenance specs.

Horticultural Consulting: Advise clients on long-term plant health, sustainable urban practices, and seasonal enhancement programs to increase property curb appeal and value.

Portfolio Management: Build and maintain high-level relationships with Property Managers, Facility Directors, and Board Members.

Operations Liaison: Partner with the Operations team to ensure contract compliance, quality control, and client satisfaction.

Requirements

Proven Track Record: Minimum 3+ years of experience in commercial-specific landscape sales with a history of meeting or exceeding $1M+ annual sales quotas.

Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial maintenance cycles within the NYC climate.

Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints and site plans; experience with professional software and CRM systems.

Professional Presence: Ability to navigate the corporate landscape, from presenting to C-suite executives to coordinating with site engineers.

NYC Expertise: Thorough understanding of local compliance, union considerations (if applicable), and the logistical complexities of servicing major commercial sites.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary commensurate with experience + commission structure based on contract value and renewals.
