Lead Carpenter needed

Who Are We?
Clear Choice Construction is a general carpentry company primarily serving the Weaverville and Asheville area - we won’t travel more than 30 minutes outside of Asheville for work. Over the last two years, the business has primarily been managed and operated by owner Andrew Herbert, with the occasional helper on larger scale projects. Andrew has been a NC licensed home inspector since 2022, recently passed the NASCLA building contractor trade exam, and has worked as a carpenter for a total of seven years.


What We’re Looking For:
In order to meet the demand of incoming leads and turn jobs around in a timely manner we are in need of a full time Lead Carpenter with experience in all things carpentry. We have worked on projects primarily but not limited to new deck builds and deck additions, siding installation, window & door installation, interior trim outs, custom built-ins, lvl flooring, minor framing jobs, etc (you can view some of our projects over the last two years at clearchoiceconstructionllc.com). With Andrew’s newly acquired builders license, we will be shifting our focus to larger scale remodels and additions over the course of 2026.

The right candidate will feel comfortable with completing tasks with minimal to no supervision, will have experience reading projects plans and blueprints, and will ideally possess the skills or be willing to learn/ acquire the skills to lead a lesser skilled laborer/ helper.

What Can We Offer You?
This will start as a 1099 position with W2 potential after 90 days if preferred. Pay will range from $30.00 - $40.00 / hour based on experience, skill observed in the field, and leadership abilities. Can you handle small projects on your own? Do you have basic hand tools? Do you have power tools (saws, drills, nailers, etc) you are willing and able to use? When you make a mistake will you own up to it? All these questions, and more, will be considered when determining starting pay and assessing experience and capabilities. Schedule can be flexible, but we ask that you can commit to an average of 30hrs/ week.
