Studio Assistant — Nicole Ryder Studio

Artist Nicole Ryder is seeking a studio assistant to support the opening and ongoing operation
of her Los Angeles studio/showroom. Ryder recently relocated her practice from Brooklyn, NY,
and this role is an opportunity to help build and shape the studio team from the ground up.

This position is best suited for someone looking to grow within a working artist’s studio. The ideal candidate is creative in their own right, brings professional work experience, and is interested in developing alongside an expanding practice.

Working in the studio means balancing focus and collaboration: calm, attentive energy; respect for quiet making time; and active participation when problem-solving is needed.

Role Overview
The position combines physical studio support with digital production and documentation work.

Hands-On Responsibilities
Receiving, unpacking, and installing artworks alongside the artist
Packing artworks for shipment or exhibition
Meeting and supervising art handlers/shippers
Preparing textiles and materials for artwork production
Running studio-related errands (art supplies, hardware, etc.)

Digital Responsibilities:
Capturing photo and video content within the studio
Editing imagery in Lightroom and Photoshop
Supporting digital organization and online research
Ordering supplies as needed

Qualifications:
Strong Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom proficiency
Preferred: Adobe InDesign experience
Comfortable using Instagram and overall digital savvy
Ability to assist with handling and installing large works
(up to 80–100" long, approx. 30–40 lbs with support)
Clear communication skills and professional reliability
Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving instincts
Interest in long-term collaboration and growth within the studio environment

Availability & Compensation
Flexible part-time role
In-person presence required 2–3 days per week
(schedule coordinated in advance)
Hourly compensation, based on experience
