Stable Hand / Groom

We are a small boutique hunter-jumper horse facility focused on excellent horse care, a safe setting, a positive team culture and going to horse shows. We care for show and lesson horses and prioritize welfare, cleanliness, rider safety and fun.

We’re seeking a reliable, energetic Stable Hand\Groom to join our team. The role involves daily horse care, facility maintenance including stall cleaning and support for training and lessons. Ideal candidates are experienced with horses, safety-focused, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Key responsibilities

- Feed, water and groom horses; turn-out and bring-in as scheduled

- Clean and bed stalls, muck paddocks and maintain turnout areas

- Maintain clean aisles, tack rooms, wash bays, and common areas

- Assist with tacking, untacking and basic exercise/walk-outs as directed

- Monitor horse health and behavior; report concerns to barn manager promptly

- Assist with loading/unloading trailers

- Operate the tractor and drag arena and round pen.

Requirements

- Prior experience handling and caring for horses required (professional or volunteer experience)

- Comfortable handling young, green, or competitive horses

- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods and work outdoors in varying weather

- Punctual, dependable, and able to follow instructions with attention to detail

- Good communication skills and a cooperative team attitude

- Valid driver’s license; experience with tractors/farm equipment a plus

Hours & pay

- Full-time. 25$/hr paid on payroll with Worker’s Compensation insurance, weekly. 37.5hrs/wk

- Monday to Friday 830 to 430 with a 30 minute lunch.
