Controller

Pay: $80,000–$100,000+/year (DOE)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Controller to serve as a strategic financial partner to Project Managers and operational leadership. This role plays a critical part in project accounting, financial governance, forecasting, and profitability, ensuring projects are financially sound from start to finish. The Controller will provide insight that drives stronger margins, mitigates risk, and supports long-term business success.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Partnership

Act as the primary financial advisor to Project Managers
Support operational decisions with clear, data-driven financial insight

Project Accounting & Reporting

Manage revenue and cost recognition using Percentage of Completion (POC) in accordance with IFRS
Prepare project forecasts, budgets, financial statements, and variance analyses
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and overall project health

Risk & Cost Management

Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
Perform cost and margin analysis to improve profitability

CAPEX & Budget Control

Oversee project-related CAPEX tracking and reporting
Monitor budget adherence and flag deviations early

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with Finance, Operations, and Project Management
Support continuous improvement in financial controls, reporting, and forecasting

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong background in project accounting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills with both financial and non-financial teams
High attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and ERP systems

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
CPA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred
8+ years of experience in project controlling, financial analysis, or accounting
Experience in engineering, construction, or manufacturing environments strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of IFRS and POC accounting
Proven experience partnering with Project Managers or operational leaders
