Swim Instructor – Swim Team Experience Preferred (Part-Time)

Hana Hou Swim Co is hiring a part-time swim instructor for private, one-on-one swim lessons on Kauaʻi.

This position is best suited for someone with swim team experience or previous swim instructor experience, who is confident in the water and comfortable teaching children in a calm, safety-focused way.

The Job
-Teach private swim lessons (primarily pools, occasional ocean)
-30–45 minute lessons
-Flexible schedule — you choose your availability
-Locations vary around Kauaʻi (lessons grouped when possible)
-We handle all scheduling, client communication, and admin

Ideal Candidate
-Former or current swim team / competitive swimmer (strongly preferred)
-Comfortable teaching freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and basic water safety
-Calm, patient, and emotionally steady with kids
-Professional, reliable, and punctual
-Confident leading a lesson independently

Requirements
-Strong swimming ability (must be very comfortable in the water)
-Experience working with children
-CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
-WSI certification preferred or willingness to work toward it
-Reliable transportation on Kauaʻi

What This Role Is NOT
Not on-call
Not scheduling or cancellations
Not customer service
Not group classes
You show up, teach quality lessons, and go home.
