W Café is a small growing family business in Irvine, CA.
We are looking for an experienced baker and pastry chef to help lead our new bakery. This is a creative, hands-on role for someone confident in recipe development, menu creation, and daily production.
Responsibilities for Pastry chef
• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, or in a similar role within a restaurant, hotel, or bakery.
• Strong knowledge of baking methods, pastry preparation, and dessert presentation.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for ingredient storage and handling.
• Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and artistic presentation skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining consistency and quality.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Team-oriented attitude and clear communication skills.
• Formal culinary or pastry training is a plus but not required.
• Passion for the pastry arts and dedication to delivering exceptional desserts to guests
Responsibilities for Head Baker
• Prepare and bake breads, muffins, scones, cookies, and other daily baked goods
• Follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency and quality
• Handle doughs, mixing, proofing, baking, and finishing
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
• Assist with prep and production planning as needed
• Minimum 2 years of professional baking experience
• Strong understanding of dough handling and baking techniques
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Food handler certification
