The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience, deep knowledge of tax regulations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to provide strategic tax planning for both individuals and businesses. This role includes preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and advising clients on financial and tax-related matters.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients
- Conduct tax research and stay current on changes in tax laws
- Communicate with clients to gather information and address tax-related questions
- Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Lacerte to input and analyze financial data
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a tax preparer
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Proficiency in technical accounting principles and practices
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Work Location:
This position is based in San Rafael, CA and requires regular in-office presence 3–4 days per week. Remote work (up to 1–2 days per week) may be available for eligible employees, subject to business needs and manager approval.
