Are you a numbers and logistics driven person who enjoys a good puzzle? Do you want to join a team that is upbeat, goal oriented, and has high standards?
Good news! The Cupboard, a women-led team, is an organic meal subscription service delivering to families across the Bay Area, is looking for a baker to join our team. We prepare ready-to-heat meals for 60+ families each week, using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and reusable glassware containers. We easily accommodate gluten free, dairy free, and nut free.
We're seeking a detail-oriented baker (who also helps with savory) to join our team. This role focuses on a few different aspects that can be adjusted based on the right individual: someone to bake our sweet treats each week, help prep vegetables for savory, and do some other tetris-ing (we promise it's fun).
Our clients trust us to deliver meals with exceptional quality and presentation, and this role ensures that the last step is flawless.
The right fit will have experience in food production, baking, is detailed oriented, and proficient at keeping track of moving pieces.
Schedule: Sundays-Tuesdays 6am - 2pm (with potential to grow full time)
Responsibilities
—Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods including cookies, muffins, frittatas, and other items. Many are gluten free, vegan, and all using alternative sugars like coconut, dates, maple syrup.
—Help cut and prep vegetables and other elements for our savory menu.
—Maintain high quality and premium service for our client including beautiful presentation of menus, delivery bags, and containers
—Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety standards.
—Working closely with the Head Chef and other team members towards mutual goals and weekly timelines
—Contributing to the overall culture and business growth
—A blend of team work and independent work
Requirements
—Proficient at baking (culinary school, professional experience)
—Have experience scaling recipes
—Experience with gluten free and vegan baking
—Comfortable using coconut sugar and other alternative sweeteners
—5+ years experience in food service, catering, events, logistics, production kitchen, or other detail-oriented roles
—Have strong communication skills
—Are comfortable with using a computer / emails / spreadsheets
—Have a keen eye for detail
—Take initiative to solve problems
—Consider yourself efficient and a quick learner
—Have a positive attitude and are flexible as challenges come your way
—Have a growth mindset
—Currently have or are willing to obtain a food handling certificate
Job Types: starts part time, Sunday through Tuesday, growing full time for the right person
Pay: $24-26/hr, increasing over time with performance
