Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity to work with an established industry professional for hands-on experience as a legal assistant. You will work with the principal attorney and paralegal on all cases. You will also be able to interact with clients and be the office's face.
Responsibilities:
Managing incoming telephone calls, emails, and mail.
Schedule appointments and manage calendars for attorneys.
Download and save case documents into the online database or physical files
Assisting attorney and other support staff with case-filings; printing documents, scanning, and compiling filings, and filing with the e-file system.
Managing and updating active cases, conflict list, and tracking case status.
Communicating with clients about their case status
Greet and communicate with in-person clients.
Prepare and send outgoing mail and packages.
Learn, manage, and edit/organize internal software database systems like OneDrive.
Requirements:
At least 1-3 years of relevant experience required for non-degree holders.
Candidates currently pursuing a paralegal program/ bachelor’s degree are preferred.
Previous experience in a legal office is desired, though not mandatory. Experience in a family law office is a plus.
Ability to prioritize and multitask; strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Deadline and detail-oriented
Must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
