Position Overview
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions, preparation of essential financial reports, and support of day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility and confidentiality.
This position works closely with the Controller, management team, and external partners (such as accountants, banks, and vendors) to ensure the financial health and smooth operation of the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Record and reconcile all accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions
• Record quarterly inventory and assist with cost control reporting
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Monthly and quarterly journal entries
• Support financial audits and year-end closing
• Help identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function
Qualifications
Required:
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (preferably in a small or medium-sized business environment)
• Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and MS Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience working in a family-owned or privately-held business
• Familiarity with job costing and inventory management
• Bilingual (Spanish)
