Job Description

We are a well-established family law firm seeking an experienced Paralegal or Legal Assistant to immediately join our team. This position will support two attorneys and requires a minimum of 2–3 years of recent, full-time experience working in a law firm. Prior experience in a California family law firm is highly preferred.

The ideal candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be highly detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This role requires someone who is responsible, reliable, trustworthy, and tech-savvy, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Minimum 2–3 years of recent, full-time law firm experience
- California family law experience strongly preferred
- Excellent writing, grammar, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and ShareFile
- Experience with legal case management software (Clio Manage preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with e-filing procedures in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties

- California Notary Public commission preferred but not required

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

- Drafting, formatting, and preparing family law pleadings, discovery, Requests for Order (RFOs), and Judgments of Dissolution
- Managing case calendars, deadlines, and court filings
- E-filing and service of documents in Los Angeles and Ventura County courts
- Assisting attorneys with case preparation and client communications
- Maintaining electronic client files and document organization
- Responsible for billing your own time through Clio Manage
- Other duties as assigned
