Position Summary


The Retail Store Associate is responsible for delivering a world-class customer experience, maximizing sales through expert product knowledge, and supporting the Store Manager in daily operations. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about cycling and/or running, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be dedicated to helping customers find the perfect gear.


Key Responsibilities


Sales Performance & Store Operations
Achieve personal and store sales goals by actively engaging with customers and recommending products that meet their needs.
Process sales and returns accurately using the POS system.
Assist with daily store operations, including cash handling, opening, and closing procedures.
Maintain the highest standards of store presentation, ensuring a clean, organized, and inviting environment.
Assist with the general maintenance of the retail space and ensure the display models and service area are tidy.
Customer Experience & Community Engagement
Ensure every customer receives a personalized, expert-level experience that cultivates long-term loyalty.
Act as a knowledgeable product expert, providing detailed information on bikes, running gear, and apparel.
Support in-store community events and represent Luft at local cycling and running meetups.
Handle customer inquiries and concerns professionally, escalating complex issues to the Store Manager as needed.
Merchandising & Inventory
Execute visual merchandising strategies, including setting up displays and arranging products to highlight key items.
Assist in accurate receiving, tagging, and stocking of all new merchandise.
Maintain organized stock rooms and accurate on-shelf inventory levels.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of retail or customer service experience, preferably in an outdoor, apparel, or specialty brand environment.
Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
A strong passion for or expert knowledge of cycling, running, or both is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in retail POS systems.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits
Luft Los Angeles offers a competitive wage, commission, and a benefits package for this role.

Hourly Wage
$20 - $25 per hour, commensurate with experience
