The Opportunity: Honoring the Craft
We are seeking a highly skilled and grounded Pastry Cook with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience to join our team. This role is for the artisan who finds calm in precision and moves with intention, ensuring the rhythm of production is maintained without rush or urgency. You will be responsible for translating our vision into consistent, high-quality products that embody refined ease.
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)
Your work will be guided by the belief in flow, not force.
Production Craft: plan, set up, and execute complex recipes for a diverse range of products, including pastries, desserts, breads, gelato, syrups, and artistic amenities to the quality standard of Ocho Cafe.
Precision & Consistency: Maintain and execute all standard pastry recipes, ensuring high quality and consistent presentation across all outlets and special requests.
Operational Rhythm: Efficient work and clear thinking under pressure. Prioritize production schedule to meet timelines while working cohesively with the Ocho team.
Inventory & Control: Support procedures for food portioning and wastage controls, and assist with inventory, and proper storage of inventory.
Uphold Standards: Rigidly follow all protocols for food handling, correct temperature control, and maintenance of all spaces and equipment to Ocho Cafe standards at all times.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
To step into this role, you should possess the following foundational knowledge and skills:
Experience: Minimum 2 years of continuous, verifiable professional pastry experience.
Technical Skill: Demonstrated ability in pastry arts, to be displayed during stage.
Work Ethic: Must be able to perform in a high-volume environment and be available for early morning shifts (including weekends and holidays).
Core Alignment: A passion to commit to excellence.
