Experienced CNC Machinist (5-Axis Focus)

Responsible Metal Fab, Inc. (RMFI), a leader in high-precision metal fabrication in the Bay Area for 40 years, is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Operator/Machinist. We specialize in complex components for the telecom, military, medical, and aerospace industries and are an ITAR and ISO-certified facility.
We are actively expanding our advanced CNC capabilities and need a skilled professional to set up and operate our fleet of 3 Haas CNC mills and our highly valued Mori-Seiki 5 Axis machine.
This role offers significant opportunity for an ambitious machinist to take ownership of advanced projects. Unlike high-volume production facilities, our job shop environment encourages participation in all aspects of the manufacturing process, from setup to final inspection. There is an opportunity for advancement for the right candidate.
Responsibilities & Equipment:
• Set up and operate 3 Haas CNC Mills and 1 Mori-Seiki 5-Axis machine.
• Work with minimal supervision on complex, high-precision projects for high-end industries.
• Utilize a large Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) for precise inspection.
Required Qualifications:
We are looking for a self-starter with excellent attendance and a team-oriented mindset:
• Minimum 5 years of professional CNC Machine shop experience.
• Strong preference for candidates with direct 5-Axis experience.
• Proficiency in programming with Fusion 360 (highly desired).
• Ability to read complex blueprints and a strong working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Experience using various precision inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM operation).
• Must possess own tools.
(CMM Programming experience on Nikon Altera-S 10-10-8 is a significant advantage.)
