Job Description

About Us
We are looking for a fun, energetic teacher to join our team! The Children’s Place (TCP) is proud to be the only non-profit (non-co-op) preschool in San Carlos. Founded in 1981, TCP has continuously served San Carlos and the surrounding community for over four decades. We provide a loving, play-based preschool experience for children aged 2 through Pre-K, fostering an environment where children can learn through exploration and joy.

The Role
This position will primarily work with our two-year-old students in a supportive, team-teaching environment. You will collaborate with a partner teacher to guide our youngest learners through their first school experiences, focusing on social-emotional growth and discovery.

Schedule Requirements
To provide the consistency and stability our toddlers need, we require a fixed schedule:
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Availability: These hours are firm. We require candidates who can commit to this full-time schedule with no exceptions.

Compensation & Benefits
We value our educators and offer a comprehensive package to support your well-being and professional life:
Starting Wage: $25.00 – $31.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience and Qualifications).
Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Health insurance, including Vision and Dental coverage.
Financial Protection: Group Life Insurance.
Paid Time Off: * Paid Time Off (PTO) for personal use.
Accrued Sick Time (compliant with CA state law).
Paid Holidays (Eligibility requires working the scheduled day before and after the holiday, unless using pre-approved PTO).

Key Responsibilities
Team Teaching: Partner with fellow teachers to create a vibrant, play-based classroom culture.
Nurturing Care: Support the specific needs of two-year-olds, including changing diapers and assisting with potty training.
Physical Activity: Maintain the high energy required to keep up with active toddlers. You must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Curriculum: Implement engaging, play-based activities that align with the TCP philosophy.

Position Requirements
Education: A minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units (must include Child Development; Child, Family, and Community; and Curriculum).
Experience: A passion for working with the "Two's" age group. Previous experience in a licensed center is a plus.
Physicality: Must be comfortable being active—crouching, kneeling, sitting on the floor, and lifting children as needed.
Compliance: Must be able to pass a background check/Livescan clearance and provide proof of required immunizations (TB, MMR, Tdap) per California state law.

How to Apply
If you are an energetic educator who loves the magic of the toddler years, we want to hear from you! Please submit your resume and a copy of your ECE transcripts.

Only well matched, qualified candidates will be contacted.
