Position Summary

Mae Dunne is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our back-of-house team. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes according to our recipes and standards, ensuring that each guest enjoys an exceptional dining experience. You will work closely with the kitchen team to maintain consistency, efficiency, and excellence in every plate that leaves the kitchen.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with Mae Dunne recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work station at all times.
Assist with prep work, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients.
Monitor food quality, freshness, and portion control throughout service.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and according to proper procedures.
Work collaboratively with fellow cooks, chefs, and dish staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation guidelines as required by law and Mae Dunne standards.
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage of inventory.
Communicate effectively with team members to handle special requests or modifications.
Qualifications

Prior cooking experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred.
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in a hot kitchen environment.
