Freight Forwarder / Logistics Coordinator (Import / Export)

Position Overview

Livingstone Logistics is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Freight Forwarder / Logistics Coordinator with hands-on experience in import and export operations. This role supports the coordination of international and domestic shipments and works closely with overseas agents, carriers, and customers to ensure smooth freight movement. The position is primarily remote, with occasional in-office collaboration.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior-to-mid-level logistics professional looking to strengthen their freight forwarding skills while gaining broader exposure across import/export operations.



Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and manage end-to-end international and domestic import/export shipments (Air, Ocean LCL/FCL, and Ground)
• Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, truckers, warehouses, and customers
• Prepare, review, and process shipping documentation (B/L, AWB, commercial invoices, packing lists, ISF, AMS, delivery orders)
• Track shipments and provide accurate and timely status updates
• Assist with freight quotations, rate comparisons, and basic cost analysis
• Support compliance with U.S. Customs and international shipping regulations
• Help resolve shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, or routing changes
• Maintain organized shipment records and internal tracking systems
• Participate in occasional in-office meetings, training, or team functions



Qualifications & Experience
• 1–3 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or international shipping
• Working knowledge of Incoterms (FOB, CIF, DDP, etc.)
• Familiarity with import/export processes for air, ocean (LCL/FCL), and ground freight
• Basic understanding of U.S. Customs clearance procedures
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Proficiency in email, spreadsheets, and logistics systems


Work Environment
• Primarily remote role
• Occasional in-office attendance for meetings, training, or team events
• Standard business hours with some flexibility depending on shipment activity
