Job Description

Read entire ad, carefully, before replying.

Work is 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, every day, for a minimum of 2 weeks and as long as 4 weeks on the same 1-acre job-site. Must speak fluent English, have reliable transportation, be in good physical condition, able to work independently and alone, and be willing to work hard, all day, every day. Pay will be in cash at the end of each day—$25 per hour to start with the potential for raises for someone who can demonstrate experience, an ability to listen and follow directions, and a good attitude toward work.

Must be willing and able to push wheelbarrow loads of sand and rock up a slight incline 150 feet, use a pick and shovel, build attractive berms, stretch a string-line, build straight rock borders, and do maintenance like pruning bushes and trees, clearing weeds with a hula hoe, and using a rock rake to level areas. Experience installing pavers and flagstone and putting in a watering system is not required but would lead to the opportunity for additional work and higher pay.

I am a retired civil engineer and building contractor and have employed many construction workers from all backgrounds on commercial and residential jobs. I paid my way through college working construction. I did every bit of physical labor on my own property for decades and know what it means to work hard and to enjoy it. All work will be done with hand tools that I will supply. If you are incapable of getting a sense of accomplishment out of making something with your own hard, physical labor, or if you just like to complain, please don't apply. Job-site is on one acre in Rio Verde Foothills (Near 152nd Street and Rio Verde Drive).

Send me an email using the Craigslist Mail Relay with the following information:

1. First and Last Name and a Phone Number where I can Text or Call you.***
2. Brief Description of your Experience doing Landscaping;
3. References with contact information;
4. Hourly Pay you usually get.

***I do not do background checks and have hired people on parole but have had 100% bad experiences with people that think they need to hide their identity. I will need to see an ID with a name and address for anyone I hire.
