Mechanical Instrument Engineer

The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Mechanical Hardware Engineer to help design our seminal PCR based platform. You’ll work closely with scientists and software engineers to take prototypes through development, optimization, manufacturing transfer and commercialization.
What You’ll Do
● Design and prototype the instrument and components integrating fluidic, electrical, optical and mechanical functions.
● Integrate optical components into functional prototypes.
● Rapidly test, troubleshoot, and refine designs based on feedback.
● Collaborate with assay and software teams to ensure seamless integration.
● Support transition from prototype to manufacturable product.
What We’re Looking For
● Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical (or similar) with 3+ years of experience.
● Proven hands-on experience with hardware design and prototyping.
● Experience with hardware prototyping (CAD, Machining, 3D printing, Molding).
● Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
● Creative problem-solver who enjoys working across disciplines.
