Job Description

We are a small, high-precision machine shop based in Santa Clara, CA, dedicated to quality craftsmanship and on-time delivery. We are looking for an experienced 3-Axis CNC Machinist to handle setup and operation for our primary production needs. This is the perfect role for a skilled machinist who wants to master 3-axis work now, but is looking for a shop that will invest in their future. We offer on-the-job training in 5-Axis CNC Machining and Robotic Automation for the right candidate who proves their skills and reliability.

Core Responsibilities (3-Axis Focus):
-Setup & Operation: Independently set up and operate 3-axis CNC mills.
-Precision & Quality: Read blueprints and job travelers to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Verify part conformance using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment.
-Machine Control: Make necessary adjustments to tool wear offsets and compensation values to keep features within process control limits.
-Optimization: Monitor and optimize speeds and feeds to ensure high-quality surface finishes and efficient run times.
-Shop Support: Keep machinery and work areas clean/organized, operate forklifts for material handling, and run multiple machines when cycle times allow.

Requirements:
-Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines (specifically 3-axis mills).
-Autonomy: Must be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
-Physical: Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
-Language: Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Bonus Qualifications (Preferred, Not Required)
-Experience with installing hardware dowel pins, helicoils, etc.
-Experience operating manual mills.
-General interest or previous exposure to robotics/automation.

Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Some Saturdays and overtime may be required depending on workload.
