A hostel is different than a hotel because we offer shared accommodation. Most of our guests have one bed in a dorm style room with bunk beds. We also offer a limited amount of private rooms.

We are looking for a Receptionist to manage our front desk and perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for Samesun. You will welcome guests and greet people who visit the business. To be successful as a Receptionist, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. This role may require working different shifts, so flexibility is a plus. Ultimately, a Receptionist’s duties and responsibilities are to ensure the front desk welcomes guests positively, and executes all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:
-Welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the hostel
-Help the guests with check in or making a new reservation
-Answer incoming phone calls
-Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material
-Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
-Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
-Help with the housekeeping in downtimes throughout the day
-Cleaning, bathrooms and our common areas. This is not the job for you if you are hesitant to clean vomit or a dirty toilet.

Skills:
-Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Customer Service Representative or similar is a bonus
-Familiar with MEWS (PMS) is a plus
-Solid written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
-Excellent organizational skills
-Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
-Customer service attitude

Schedule:
TBD. We operate 24 hours with three 8 hour shifts at the front desk. The primary shifts available for these positions will be 3:00pm-11:00pm and 11:00pm-7:00am. Weekends and Holidays preferred.
