This role is for a proven operations leader who understands that exceptional hospitality is built long before a problem ever reaches the guest or owner.
The Role
We are seeking a Head of Operations to lead and elevate our day-to-day operations across our Napa and Sonoma portfolio. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives on anticipation, precision, accountability, and calm execution.
You will manage and guide a well-trained, long-tenured team that already works cohesively—your role is to elevate standards, remove friction, and ensure systems run smoothly at scale.
This is not a reactive role.
This is about preventing issues, setting clear expectations, and stepping in decisively when needed—and doing so with professionalism, clarity, and grace.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all operational aspects of vacation rental management across Napa & Sonoma(and additional areas)
• Lead, mentor, and support a seasoned operations team
• Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, or service gaps—and address them before they escalate
• Serve as the calm, capable point of leadership when challenges arise
• Ensure consistent execution of brand standards, property readiness, and guest experience
• Partner closely with ownership and leadership on strategy, scaling, and process improvement
• Maintain a high standard of communication with owners, vendors, and internal teams
• Uphold Sonoma Stays’ owner-first philosophy while delivering elevated guest experiences
Required Experience & Qualifications
• Previous hospitality or vacation rental management leadership experience (required)
• Deep operational knowledge of short-term rental workflows
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to see both the big picture and the smallest touchpoints
• Proven ability to anticipate issues and design systems that prevent them
• Confident, composed communicator—especially during high-pressure situations
• Natural leader who earns trust through consistency, clarity, and follow-through
• Comfortable managing established teams and guiding them through growth and change
• Local to (or deeply familiar with) the Napa / Sonoma area, must live in the general Napa, Sonoma, Wine Country area
