WSB Properties is a property management company serving residents throughout the Bay Area. We are hiring an assistant property manager to help with various tasks related to our apartment communities. This would be a full-time position -- Monday to Friday -- for about 40 hours per week. Compensation is $37/hour.

The position will be mostly in South Oakland. We would like the assistant manager to sit at a 72 unit residential, apartment community for most of the week. There would, however, be some travel required to Castro Valley and Hayward.




Primary Duties:

-Manage a 72 unit apartment community in South Oakland.
-WSB Properties is very hands on. We have full off-site support with handymen, vendors, and more to assist with the management of the community.
-The assistant manager would have to be present in the office at this 72 unit community for most of the week, and keep an eye on the community. There will be a significant amount of activity at this community for 6 to 12 months as there is currently high vacancy.
-WSB Properties will employ a leasing consultant to help fill the vacancy.

Other Duties:
-WSB Properties currently owns and manages about 750 other units in the Bay. Other responsibilities will include helping the General Manager with tasks related to those other communities.
-This would require some travel to Castro Valley and Hayward. Reliable transportation is a must.
-Take tenant calls. Communicate with residents to address non-maintenance questions and concerns including: lease renewals, rent questions, utility payments, community issues, etc.
-Using company software (Appfolio) to create new leases, amend tenant information, and log rent payments.
-Communicate with vendors such as PG&E, Comcast, etc. about account information or ongoing issues.
-File documents online.
-Visit apartment and communities and take pictures as directed by the General Manager.
-Occasionally receive deliveries.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively with prospects, residents, peers, management.
-Computer proficient in Microsoft Office (email, calendaring, MSWord), as well as GoogleSuite.
-Detail oriented and organized; keeping accurate notes, details of leasing items, rent details, dates, and more.
-Ability to communicate effectively and promptly via text, phone, or email.
-Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and exercise confidentiality.
-Projects a professional image and demeanor at all times.
-Ability to be on feet and walking for part of a shift: walking properties.
-Good transportation and clean driving record.
-Understand, apply, and comply with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications Required:

-High School Diploma or GED Required. Some college is preferred.
-Bilingual in Spanish and English highly preferred.
-At least a one-year experience in a customer service related environment.
-Flexibility in schedule; working some office hours and some local travel hours.
-Must have dependable form of transportation and clean driving record.
