Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, (5 years minimum), Carpenter Lead with a strong work ethic, high morale, and a deep pride in true craftsmanship to oversee and work alongside our carpentry team in delivering high-quality woodwork for interior elevator design projects. The ideal candidate demonstrates integrity, reliability, and professionalism, and can work independently or as part of a crew while modeling excellence for others.
This role is responsible for leading daily shop operations, coordinating schedules, managing workflow, and ensuring all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with exceptional craftsmanship. The Carpenter Lead will work hands-on with the team, provide technical guidance, monitor productivity, and ensure materials and parts are manufactured, replicated, or modified accurately and on time. This position plays a critical role in quality control, safety compliance, and meeting project deadlines, while supporting installers and field teams with all required materials.
* Key Responsibilities Leadership & Project Coordination
Lead and work directly with carpentry team members on daily assignments and project builds.
Plan and allocate work to ensure efficiency, quality, and meeting daily/weekly production goals.
Track project progress, adjust workloads, and manage overtime to meet deadlines while maintaining budget.
Serve as the primary point of contact for project managers, ensuring timely updates and coordination.
* Carpentry & Production
Manufacture, replicate, or modify wood components for interior elevator products and custom designs.
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to ensure accuracy and craftsmanship.
Ensure all parts are produced and prepared for installers to meet field installation schedules.
Perform hands-on carpentry alongside the team, modeling quality workmanship and efficiency.
Maintains a clean wood shop environment, tools and equipment to ensure safety performance.
* Quality & Safety
Enforce safety standards and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
Inspect and verify workmanship throughout each project to ensure consistency and high standards.
Implement and maintain quality-control processes for materials and finished products.
* Team Development
Provide coaching, guidance, and skill development to carpentry helpers and junior team members.
Promote teamwork, problem solving, and continuous improvement practices.
*Materials & Inventory
Request, monitor, and order materials and supplies to support ongoing production.
Ensure proper documentation and organization of incoming and outgoing materials.
Manages woodshop inventory.
Collaboration
Work closely with shop workers, fabricators, welders, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Partner with the Operations management team to align schedules, resolve issues, and support project planning.
*Other Duties
Perform additional responsibilities as required to support department needs.
*Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years carpentry experience; minimum 2 years leading a team.
Proficient in hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in carpentry and wood fabrication.
Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, framing, finishing, and shop production methods.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and produce precise, high-quality woodwork.
Familiarity with mold remediation is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot production issues.
Excellent attention to detail, craftsmanship, and commitment to safety.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Ability to work in-person in Miami Gardens
Must be able to work in person early shift (630am - 3:30pm) Over time eligible role
