Job Description
We are a family-owned seafood restaurant and market located in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara and are seeking an experienced, hands-on Restaurant & Market Manager to lead daily operations, support our team, and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a strong working knowledge of seafood and fish products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily front-of-house operations while supporting coordination with back-of-house teams
* Lead service execution and ensure consistent, high-quality guest experiences
* Train, coach, and support team members across front-of-house, market, and support roles
* Manage shift flow, staffing, breaks, and coverage during peak service periods
* Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
* Apply seafood and fish knowledge to assist with staff training, guest education, and proper product handling
* Address guest concerns professionally and resolve issues efficiently
* Assist with scheduling, onboarding, performance feedback, and accountability
* Communicate clearly with ownership and leadership regarding operations, staffing needs, and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
* Prior restaurant or hospitality management experience required
* Strong understanding of seafood and fish varieties, quality standards, and handling practices
* Proven leadership skills with a positive, solution-oriented mindset
* Excellent communication and team-building abilities
* Reliable, punctual, and well-organized
* Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and lead during high-volume service
* Availability to work evenings, weekends, and all operating-hour shifts
* Passion for food quality, guest service, and team development
