Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager in the Imperial Valley (Yuma and commuting San Diego candidates encouraged to apply)
Senior Project Manager (Employee-Owned General Contractor)
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead high-impact builds from preconstruction through closeout while partnering with a team of employee-owners who take real pride in how projects are delivered. This is a strong fit for a proactive, detail-minded leader who likes clear processes, steady communication, and running work with discipline from day one.
If you thrive in a fast-moving environment, bring structure to complexity, and enjoy building trusted relationships with owners, designers, and field teams, this role offers long-term growth and true ownership in the outcome.
What You’ll Do
* Serve as the primary point of contact for client coordination, expectations, and project communication
* Provide overall project leadership, including mentorship and coordination across internal teams
* Own project documentation and controls, ensuring files are accurate, current, and organized
* Prepare and manage cost proposals, change orders, and supporting documentation
* Build and track project budgets, including buyout and contracting strategy
* Manage project accounting deliverables, including owner billings and review/approval of subcontractor pay applications
* Maintain budget and cost control for the full project lifecycle
* Oversee submittals, RFIs, and project documentation requirements to keep the team aligned and moving
* Develop, maintain, and communicate the CPM schedule (including updates and recovery planning)
* Manage subcontractors and procurement (materials/equipment), including coordination, billing flow, and cost tracking
* Coordinate closely with architects, consultants, owners, subcontractors, and field leadership to drive execution
What We’re Looking For
* Commercial and/or Public Works project management experience (multiple projects or one large, complex project)
* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field preferred
* Solid knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, and applicable regulations
* Proven ability to perform under deadline pressure while coordinating multiple stakeholders
* Strong communication, teamwork, and organization skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling tools (MS Project or similar)
* Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history
Preferred Experience
* Work on K-12 school bond programs (examples include large district programs)
* Procore experience
* Higher Education project experience
* Healthcare project experience
Benefits (Highlights)
* Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
* Profit sharing
* Health and dental premiums fully paid by the employer for team members
* Generous vacation and sick time
* Nine paid holidays (including a birthday holiday)
* Employer-paid life, AD&D, and long-term disability coverage
* Retirement plan with company contribution
* Subsidized child care tuition support
* Health and dependent care FSAs
