Job Description

El Camino Asphalt Paving Corp, a trusted name in Southern California asphalt construction since 1983, is seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Superintendent to join our team in Orange, CA. We're looking for a strong leader who takes pride in quality work, efficient production, and leading crews with professionalism and accountability.


RESPONSIBILITIES

*Supervise and coordinate daily paving operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
*Oversee field crews, equipment, and materials for asphalt paving projects (commercial, public works, and private)
*Strong open communication skills with project managers with respect to change orders, dump sites, trucking, and any other foreseeable issues that can affect overall production.
*Manage project scheduling, logistics, and coordination with estimators, project managers, and clients.
*Conduct daily jobsite inspections and enforce safety compliance (Cal/OSHA standards).
*Monitor and control production costs, labor hours, and material usage.
*Ensure quality control standards are maintained throughout the paving process.
*Train and mentor crew members, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
*Communicate effectively with foremen, truck drivers, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
*Review proposed asphalt and concrete projects.
*Must examine situations considering the principles of safety and code of safe practices as well as the fleet safety management guidelines and policies.
*Attend job walks and all meetings regarding safety.
*Monitor and manage employee attendance, ensuring the timely arrival and participation of all crew members, and notifying employees of rainy days or delays in the construction schedule before the commencement of projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

*Minimum 5 years of experience in asphalt paving supervision.
*Strong knowledge of asphalt materials, paving equipment, and Caltrans or public works specifications.
*Proven ability to manage multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
*Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
*Valid California driver's license and clean driving record required.
*Be able to work overtime when required.
*Knowledge of Microsoft Office and email

Starting Salary: $125,000+ (DOE)
