Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic
Opelika, AL

What you will do:

Troubleshoot, repair and replace damaged or worn parts
Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications
Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on vehicles and equipment
Read and understand operating manuals, technical manuals, and technical drawings
Familiar with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical properties
Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges
Able to troubleshoot electrical faults and read trouble codes

 
What you need to be successful:

Must have High School Diploma or GED
Must have 5 years verifiable work experience with diesel engines, or relative degree
Must be able to work rotating shifts, willing to work any shift
Minimum age of 18 years
Excellent safety record
Follow all safety criteria and contribute to the safety program
Must be willing and able to work in climate weather
Good written and oral communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Excellent attendance record
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Must have knowledge in the fundamentals of welding
Must successfully complete a skills assessment, pre-employment drug screen, physical, reference check and background check
