Job Description
This is a career operations role, not a supervisory or desk-only position.
I’m seeking an experienced shop operator / general manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a high-volume, top-rated bicycle and e-bike business in Sedona.
At the outset, this role mirrors what I currently do as the owner-operator. That means being responsible for everything required to run the shop smoothly, safely, and professionally.
⸻
What this role actually is
This role requires hands-on bicycle mechanical experience and the willingness to personally handle all aspects of the operation.
You will be responsible for:
• Opening and closing the shop (keys, alarm, security)
• Cash handling, inventory control, ordering parts, bikes, and tools
• Managing staff and coordinating service work
• Ensuring the entire fleet is safe, tuned, and ready every day
• Handling customers from start to finish when needed
• Maintaining the systems and standards that consistently produce 5-star reviews
• Doing whatever the job requires on a given day to keep the business running properly
This is not a role where you supervise from a distance.
This is an operator role, especially in the beginning.
⸻
Work ethic & rhythm
This role is for someone who:
• Is willing to work hard and take full responsibility
• Understands that some days and weeks require long hours and full engagement
• Also values building a sustainable work–life rhythm over time
• Takes pride in ownership, reliability, and follow-through
The goal is long-term stability and professionalism — not burnout, but also not clock-watching.
⸻
Who this is for
You are likely a good fit if:
• You have real bicycle shop or service-department experience
• You are mechanically competent and comfortable being hands-on
• You’ve carried responsibility beyond just your job description
• You can hold firm standards with staff and customers
• You want a long-term role where your judgment and reliability matter
⸻
Compensation
• $70,000+ annually, depending on experience
• Performance-based bonuses
• For the right person, room for long-term growth, expanded responsibility, and potential future ownership discussions
⸻
How to apply (important)
• Email applications only
• No phone calls will be accepted for this position
Please include:
1. A brief summary of your bicycle mechanical and operations experience
2. One example of taking full responsibility in a demanding role
3. Whether you are local or open to relocation
Applications that do not follow these instructions will not be considered.
