Accounting Assistant

The candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality and take responsibility for various accounting functions.

Areas of Responsibility:
Accounting, Financial and Inventory – Perform daily functions including:
• Accurately record transactions affecting inventory received in the warehouse including purchase orders and vendor bills
• Accurately record transactions affecting inventory shipped from the warehouse including sales orders and customer invoices
• Work with shipping/warehouse department to help maintain accurate inventory numbers
• Enter Sales Orders
• Invoice Customers
• Issue Credit Memos
• Daily deposits – ACH, Checks and Credit Card Processing
• Follow-up with Customers on Past Due Invoices
• Enter Purchase Orders
• Record Vendor Bills including Allocation of Landed Costs
• Input credit card purchases
• Weekly check runs
Customer Service –
• Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email
• Help resolve customer issues relating to sales orders, invoices, shipment dates and A/R; notifying Controller and Salesmen as necessary of issues
• Maintain customer records updating account information including preferred shipping methods and credit terms
• Work with salesmen to provide quotes to customers
• Process customer returns
Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years accounting or full charge bookkeeping experience, including inventory accounting
• Proficient with QuickBooks Desktop (preferably QB Enterprise) and Excel
• Experience accounting for inventory required (this is a must)
• Experience working with Shopify is helpful
• Experience working with Merchant Accounts is helpful
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and also work well with others

· Excellent organization skills, ability to manage time and prioritize projects
