Job Description
The Accountant is responsible for supporting multiple client engagements by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, supporting tax and compliance functions, and communicating directly with clients. This role requires strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across various industries.
Bookkeeping and Monthly Close
Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and prepaids
Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation tracking
Review and clean up general ledger activity
Execute month-end close procedures and checklists
Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet)
Assist in preparing client-ready financial reporting packages
Tax and Compliance Support
Tie out financial statements to tax return balances
Support 1099 preparation and filings
Assist with book-to-tax adjustments and fixed asset tax schedules
Payroll and Regulatory Compliance Support
Record and reconcile payroll journal entries
Assist with payroll tax filings and notice responses
Support quarterly and annual payroll reporting requirements
Sales Tax and Indirect Tax Support
Reconcile sales tax payable accounts
Support state and local sales tax filings
Client Communication and Support
Request and follow up on client documentation
Respond to client accounting questions
Assist with onboarding new clients and transitioning records
Communicate open items and deadlines clearly
Systems and Software
Quickbooks Desktop - must
Quickbooks Online - must
