Apartment Leasing Consultant – Phoenix / Scottsdale / Mesa / Tempe (West/Central/East Valley)
AJ Employment Services
Compensation: Competitive (based on experience)
Employment type: Full-time
Experience level: Experienced (NO ENTRY LEVEL)
Job title: Apartment Leasing Consultant / Leasing Agent
We are a local staffing agency that specializes exclusively in apartment communities.
We do temporary and temp-to-hire placements only, no random gigs, no unrelated work.
How our model works:
• You start on assignment as a 1099 contractor while temping
• If the property decides to hire you on, you convert to a W-2 employee with the property
• No long-term contracts
• No buyouts
• Final hire decisions are always made by the property
Our goal is simple: place strong leasing professionals at solid communities and let performance speak for itself.
Important – Read Before Applying
This is a staffing role designed for leasing professionals who are ready to work now.
Screening is typically handled by phone or Zoom, and qualified candidates may be placed quickly — sometimes next day depending on property needs.
If you are not currently available to start promptly after screening, this may not be the right fit.
What a Leasing Consultant Does (Expectations)
This is not just “customer service.” This is sales + operations.
You must be able to:
• Handle high-volume calls, walk-ins, and internet leads
• Build rapport fast and convert traffic into tours
• Tour prospects confidently and professionally (you are the face of the community)
• Close leases and hit weekly/monthly leasing goals
• Follow up consistently (calls/texts/emails) and manage your pipeline
• Complete applications, verify info, and push files through approval/denial steps
• Support resident relations, renewals, and general front office flow
• Stay organized, detailed, and accurate under pressure
Software + Computer Skills (REQUIRED)
You must be computer-savvy and comfortable working inside property management/leasing systems daily.
Experience with one or more of the following is a major requirement:
• Yardi (Voyager / Breeze) and/or RentCafe
• RealPage / OneSite (and related leasing tools/CRMs)
• Entrata
• AppFolio
• ResMan
• MRI (or similar property management platforms)
You should also be comfortable with:
• Email + calendar professionalism
• CRM-style follow-up and note-taking
• Scanning/uploading documents, e-signature workflows
• Strong typing, accurate data entry, and multitasking across tabs/screens
If you don’t have software experience in this world, this role will not be a fit.
Professional Standards + Appearance (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
Leasing is a front-facing role. You need to look and carry yourself like a professional.
Expect:
• Business professional or polished business casual (property-dependent)
• Clean, well-groomed appearance
• Confident, upbeat energy — warm, welcoming, and sharp
• Clear communication, strong phone presence, and mature judgment
Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
• 1+ year apartment leasing experience (on-site) — experienced only
• Proven ability to tour, sell, and follow up consistently
• Reliable transportation and ability to commute across the Valley
• Professional, dependable, and responsive
• Able to start work promptly once approved
• Background screening required (property-specific)
How to Apply (READ CAREFULLY)
