Job Description
Permanent employment opportunity with a fast-paced, high-end landscape, pool, and outdoor construction company. This position is critical to the financial health of the company and requires deep construction bookkeeping experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
This role works closely with ownership, project managers, and operations to ensure accurate job costing, billing, compliance, and financial reporting across multiple active construction projects.
CORE REQUIREMENTS -
Extremely organized and detail-oriented
Strong communication skills with internal teams, subcontractors, and ownership
Ability to work in a deadline-driven, accuracy-dependent environment
Construction accounting background required (AIA billing, job costing, subcontractor compliance)
Strong Excel and accounting software proficiency
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED -
Construction accounting (commercial and/or residential)
Job costing and cost tracking by project
AIA billing and pay applications
Subcontractor documentation, compliance, and insurance tracking
Preliminary Notices and lien law knowledge
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Payroll coordination (construction environment)
Experience with the following is a MAJOR PLUS -
QuickBooks
Procore or construction management platforms
Multi-project accounting environments
Working directly with Project Managers and Owners
DUTIES INCLUDE -
Job cost setup, tracking, and reporting for active construction projects
Monthly AIA billing and customer invoicing
Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Subcontractor pay applications and compliance tracking
Managing Preliminary Notices and required construction documentation
QUALIFICATIONS -
Minimum 5+ years of construction accounting experience
Proven experience supporting multiple active construction projects
Strong Excel skills required
Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
Ability to communicate effectively with operations, project managers, and ownership
Construction terminology and workflow knowledge required
COMPENSATION -
Starting compensation based on experience
