Job Description

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be a key player in turning ideas into reality—from concept and design through manufacturing and product lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead the design of industrial housings, enclosures, and mechanical systems that meet IP, NEMA, and explosion-proof standards.
• Collaborate with OEM customers and internal teams to translate requirements into practical, manufacturable designs.
• Develop tooling and test fixtures that support efficient production.
• Oversee product certifications and compliance testing (in-house and with 3rd parties).
• Create and maintain documentation for fabrication, assembly, and cost estimates.
• Provide hands-on support for field and manufacturing issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and help refine design best practices.
• Continuously improve processes to boost product quality and reliability.
• All other assigned and essential duties as required.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years designing mechanical systems for industrial or related products.
• Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, castings, plastics).
• Familiarity with standards for IP & NEMA ratings and explosion-proof housings.
• Skilled in CAD tools (3D Pro/E, SolidWorks, or similar; 2D AutoCAD), and comfortable with MS Office and manufacturing software.
• Experience with analytical methods (FEA, heat transfer, strength of materials).
• Ability to partner with external vendors and customers.
• Strong communication skills; able to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Fluent written and verbal communication in English, bilingual Spanish communications skills a plus.

Extended Hours Policy
Our regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. From time to time, extended work hours may be required to meet important project deadlines or to support critical customer needs.
• For non-exempt roles any overtime will be compensated in accordance with California labor law (e.g., 1.5 × or 2 × pay depending on hours worked).
• For exempt roles, these positions are salaried and may require occasional extended work hours. While not overtime-eligible, we strive to balance workloads and respect personal time.
