Job Description
This role is best suited for engineers who enjoy detail-oriented layout work, working within defined constraints, and contributing to long lifecycle products where correctness, documentation, and reliability matter more than speed or novelty.
What You’ll Do
• Lay out PCBs for low-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal designs
• Implement spacing, isolation, and construction rules that support safety and compliance
• Collaborate closely with hardware, manufacturing, and compliance engineers
• Produce complete, well-documented PCB release packages
• Support ECOs, revisions, and production feedback over the product lifecycle
• All other assigned and essential duties as required.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of professional PCB layout experience in industrial or regulated environments
• Proficiency with at least one professional PCB CAD tool (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, PCAD, or similar, Altium Designer preferred)
• Strong understanding of:
• Low-speed digital and analog PCB layout principles
• Creepage and clearance requirements
• Industrial EMC/ESD considerations
• Experience working with formal engineering documentation and revision control processes
• Fluent written and verbal communication in English
• A mindset for continuous learning and mentoring
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting products certified to UL, FM, and/or CSA standards
• Familiarity with Intrinsic Safety (IS) concepts and hazardous-location design constraints
• Exposure to IEC 61508 or other functional safety standards
• Experience working on long-lifecycle industrial products (10–20+ years)
• Prior collaboration with compliance engineers, test labs, or certification bodies
Why Join Us
• Work on meaningful products that impact critical industries worldwide
• Be part of a collaborative, innovative engineering culture
• A company that values integrity, inclusivity, and forward thinking
Extended Hours Policy
Our regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. From time to time, extended work hours may be required to meet important project deadlines or to support critical customer needs.
• For non-exempt roles any overtime will be compensated in accordance with California labor law (e.g., 1.5 × or 2 × pay depending on hours worked)
• For exempt roles, these positions are salaried and may require occasional extended work hours. While not overtime-eligible, we strive to balance workloads and respect personal time
