Quality Manager- Machine Shop

Company: General Grinding & Mfg. Co., LLC is an AS9100/ISO9001 certified job shop specializing in manufacturing and grinding services for the aerospace and commercial industry. We are a small to medium sized business located in La Mirada, CA, and operate from a 25,000 sq. ft. building with over 80 machines including CNC Mill/Lathe, Honing and complete grinding capabilities.

Position: The quality manager is responsible for quality assurance for the entire organization and manages the operations of the Quality Department to ensure product quality and compliance to AS9100.

Job Summary: Candidates must fully understand ISO9001:2000 and AS9100 Rev. C Quality Management System. Must be capable of effectively presenting recommendations based on quality system needs across departmental lines.

Requirements: The ideal candidate should have Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience of min. of 5 years experience in related field; preferably aerospace, as well as the following:
• Be capable of maintaining and continued improvement of AS9100 / ISO9001:2000 quality management system
• Be detail orientated
• Have good written and oral communication skills
• Have strong interpersonal skills
• Be capable of positive interface with customers and suppliers at all levels
• Have strong computer skills including MSOffice (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Be experienced with MIL, AN, AS, MS, NAS specs and standards
• Manage document control system
• Be proficient in blue print interpretation
• Be experienced in first articles, in-process & final inspection processes.
• Be proficient with micrometers, calipers, ring/ plug thread gages, optical comparator, depth micrometers, calibration process and SPC
• Formulate and maintain quality objectives that result in enhanced customer satisfaction, reduced cycle time, elimination of nonessential practices and cost reduction.
• Familiar with the contract and document review process
• Be capable of training across departmental lines to support quality system requirements
• Being capable of the assignment of quality representative for all audits including internal, supplier, customer and 3rd party
• First hand experience and knowledge to inspect machined/ground parts. Most parts are held to .0002” tolerance
• Not mandatory but ideal: bilingual (English and Korean or Spanish)

This is a full time position ready for immediate hire. Hours: 6am – 2:30pm, M-F Company has medical benefits, vacation, and a profit sharing plan.
