Job Description

Location: Pacific Grove, CA
Company: Michael Finizio Fine Woodworking
Compensation: $60,000/year + Benefits
Schedule: M-F, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Occasional weekends/12+ hour delivery days)

The Opportunity
Michael Finizio Fine Woodworking is a custom furniture studio known for heirloom-quality craftsmanship. We are seeking a Business Operations Associate to join our four-person team in a long-term, career-oriented capacity.

The Role: A Hybrid Career Path
• Phase 1 (Initial 12 Months): 80% Office, Admin, and Content / 20% Shop.
• Phase 2 (Long Term): 60% Office / 40% Shop.

Your Responsibilities
• Lead Qualification & Intake: Act as the initial point of contact for incoming inquiries. You will gather specs and dimensions and qualify leads via Monday.com so the owner is prepared for outreach.

• Design & Documentation: Translate approved concepts into precise Drawings for Approval (DFA) using SketchUp.

• Content Capture: Document the furniture builds from start to finish. You will film select portions of the construction process to provide raw footage for our social media consultant.

• Operational Support: Manage invoicing via QuickBooks, prepare and mail finish samples, and maintain project timelines.

• Shop Stewardship: We are extremely particular about our workspace. You will be responsible for keeping the shop in a state of cleanliness and organization at all times.

• Logistics & Delivery: Assist with furniture deliveries throughout the SF Bay Area. This requires a clean driving record and the ability to handle heavy lifting (75lbs+).

• The Build: Learn the trade and assist with furniture construction alongside our two full-time builders.

Who You Are
• A Career-Minded Professional: You value the stability and growth of being a key employee in an established brand.

• Detail-Obsessed: You are naturally "particular." You take pride in a clean shop, a perfect drawing, and an organized spreadsheet.

• SketchUp Proficient: You have a functional understanding of SketchUp and can translate 3D concepts into buildable plans.

• Organized & Proactive: You can manage multiple administrative moving parts (samples, invoices, Monday.com boards) without things falling through the cracks.

• Physically Capable: Comfortable with the physical demands of shop work and long delivery days.

Why Work With Us?
• Stability & Growth: Join a thriving business with a consistent pipeline of high-end work.

• Collaborative Environment: We are a "radio on, head down" shop that also values team input. We discuss builds together, and everyone has a voice in the process.

• Mentorship: Gain a deep understanding of fine woodworking and the operations of a luxury craft brand.

• Growth: This role is designed to evolve into a permanent, high-level management position within the company.
