Position Summary

As a Roof Technician, you will work as part of a field crew to perform commercial roofing installations, repairs, tear-offs, and maintenance. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to consistently deliver Sunbelt-quality workmanship. The Roof Technician will report directly to the Crew Foreman and work closely with the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

Perform all aspects of commercial roofing work including tear-offs, repairs, installations, and general labor.
Arrive on time and prepared with required tools, PPE, and safety gear.
Install the following roof systems efficiently and to Sunbelt standards:
PVC single-ply
TPO single-ply
Modified Bitumen systems
Roof coating systems
Sheet metal components: coping caps, gutters, downspouts, edge metals
Assist with jobsite setup and teardown, including safety equipment and fall-protection systems.
Follow all OSHA, manufacturer, and Sunbelt safety requirements.
Participate in JHAs, toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings, and required training.
Report unsafe conditions immediately and refuse unsafe work practices.
Read and interpret work orders, written instructions, and basic project documents.
Maintain productivity while producing clean, accurate, high-quality work.
Support the crew and work collaboratively to meet project goals and deadlines.
Communicate effectively with team members, foreman, and project leadership.
Maintain a clean jobsite and represent Sunbelt professionally at all times.
Skills / Qualifications

Minimum 2 years roofing experience required; 3–5 years preferred.
Ability to install and repair commercial roofing systems.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and proper use of PPE and fall protection.
Ability to read basic plans, details, and work-related documents.
Reliable, hardworking, and able to work in a team environment.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
OSHA 10- or 30-hour certification preferred.
Additional certifications (CERTA, First Aid/CPR, forklift) are a plus.
Valid driver’s license or CDL preferred.
Requirements

Must be able to work 8–12 hour shifts, weekdays and weekends.
Ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights.
Must be able to lift 40+ pounds.
Must pass a background check (if applicable).
