Kennel Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our dog boarding team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for animals, assisting with pet care routines, and interacting with dogs and customers. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with animals and contribute to their well-being in a compassionate and professional setting. Experience in animal handling, or veterinary assistance is highly valued.

Winter is our slow season so we will be training with limited hours until spring. Hours to increase substantially during the summer.

Some weekdays required. Avrg 15-25 hours/week.

Duties

-Facilitate arrivals and departures
-Process payments
-Interact with customers to ensure clear feeding/medical instructions
-Frequently spend time with dogs outside to exercise and play with them
-Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a sanitary environment
-Assist with feeding, watering, and administering medication to animals as directed
-Handle animals safely

Requirements:

-Experience in veterinary assisting or animal care roles is highly desirable but will train the right candidate
-Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with pet owners and clients
-Ability to perform semi-heavy lifting safely and efficiently
-Compassionate attitude towards animals with a genuine interest in their well-being
-Ability to work independently while owners are off property.
-Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail
