Job Description

One of my client companies is seeking a Production Manager, base salary up to $75K depending on experience. Monday - Friday 7 am - 4:30 pm depending on needs at the plant.

Job Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for organizing and supervising work in the commercial plant/facility. This is a management position with hands-on responsibility and accountability for daily production flow and bottom-line results.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing plant safety, operation, costs and budgeting.
• Oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and engineering (maintenance) to ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
• Manage and supervise department managers (production supervisors/leads). This includes hiring and training of direct reports, providing direction and guidance, coaching and guidance.
• Responsible for execution of company production policies, procedures and standards
• Responsible for setting, monitoring, and ensuring that standards for production, quality, housekeeping and safety are met
• Responsible for overseeing all new hire training and conducts regular and ongoing training in all departments
• Analyze and recommend plans for improvement - assess and recommend equipment improvements, methods and process improvements.
• Ensure high performance in efficiency, accuracy and quality in all plant departments.
• Consults with engineering, sales and service management to ensure the smooth operation of the plant
• Performs other duties as required and reports to the Director of Operations and/or President.

Requirements
• 2+ years of production management experience with strong leadership, team building and communication skills in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Commercial plant experience is preferred. Similar experience in manufacturing is also considered.
• Ability to train and develop employees at both the line and in leadership levels: new employees on appropriate operation of the machines, development of line employees into team leads, team leads to production managers, etc.
• Ownership of safety programs in previous positions.
• Continuous improvement of performance: someone who has moved the needle in their operations and can demonstrate how they did so.
• Proven experience in developing, setting and maintaining programs that ensures productive operations.
• Experience in the supervision of two or three levels of management and /or supervision.
