Job Description
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a patient-centered setting, utilizing advanced dental technology and fostering a team-oriented atmosphere. Candidates must possess strong clinical skills, comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, etc. Prior experience is required.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Patient Assessment: Review health histories, screen for oral diseases (gingivitis, cancer), and assess periodontal health
- Preventive Treatments: Perform cleanings (prophylaxis), scaling, root planing, polishing, and apply sealants and fluoride
- Patient Education: Teach proper brushing, flossing, nutrition, and oral care habits to prevent decay and gum disease
- Diagnostic Support: Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs).
- Documentation: Accurately record patient care, treatment plans, and observations in charts
- Treatment Assistance: Support dentists during procedures, prepare treatment rooms, and sterilize instruments
- Clinical: Use hand, power, and ultrasonic tools; apply topical anesthetics; place medicaments
- Communication: Comfort anxious patients and explain complex oral health information clearly
- Organization: Manage schedules, restock supplies, and maintain sterile work environments.
- Greet each and every patient in a friendly and professional manner using their name when they both arrive and depart
- Consistently convey care and consideration for the patient's interests and allocated time
- Prioritize all patient and doctor requests based on need, time, emergency level and other allocation variables
- Earn loyalty with every patient every day
- Turn on the office each morning by managing daily checklist and previous day facility requests
- Know and work toward set practice goals
- Assist others with their workload as time permits
