Salary: $21–$25/hour (depending on experience)

Forager Elementary is a progressive, mixed-age microschool located on the Sonoma - Mendocino coast of Northern California. Redwood forests, tidepools, meadows, and coastal trails are an extension of our classroom and an essential part of how our students learn and explore. Rooted in a philosophy of inquiry, creativity, and hands-on learning, we blend academic instruction with open-ended exploration and real-world problem solving. We believe children learn best when they feel seen, capable and deeply connected to their environment and community.

We are seeking a warm, collaborative Elementary Classroom Aide who brings warmth, flexibility, and a genuine love of working with children to support our teachers with daily classroom activities. We are also seeking an Associate Teacher for the classroom. This is a unique opportunity to grow something meaningful alongside curious children, supportive families, and creative educators!

Key Responsibilities:

- Foster a warm, inclusive classroom community and help students navigate routines, transitions, and collaborative learning
- Prepare and organize classroom materials and snacks, assist with general classroom cleanliness, and support the Elementary Director with administrative tasks
- Support lead teacher during classroom activities and field trips
- Provide emotional and academic support, encouragement, and general guidance to children
- Participate in team meetings or planning sessions as needed
- Maintain open, proactive communication with the Elementary Director and teaching team

Qualifications:

- Enthusiasm for experiential, nature-based, inquiry and child-centered education
- Collaborative, flexible, and dependable
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass a background check upon hire
- Clean driving record
