Seasonal Tax Preparer

Alameda-based firm seeking a Seasonal Tax Preparer for the upcoming tax season, beginning in early February and ending in April. We are looking for a detail-oriented, deadline-driven professional who is open to recurring seasonal work. This is a great opportunity to continue building tax expertise while maintaining flexibility during the off-season. The work will primarily involve preparing individual (Form 1040) tax returns, ranging from simple to complex.

Seasonal, full-time role

Monday to Friday, with potential flexibility based on work load

Work Location: Alameda. In person, with potential flexibility for hybrid work in the future

Pay: $25 to $35 per hour

Responsibilities:
• Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals
• Accurately input tax data and supporting documentation
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and personal information
• Meet tax season deadline and productivity expectations

Qualifications:
• Prior experience preparing individual tax returns (3 years preferred, but not required)
• Current with federal and state tax updates
• Proficiency with Excel and tax preparation software (Lacerte preferred, but not required)
• Strong attention to detail and efficiency in a high-volume client environment
• PTIN required
• EA license preferred
