Overnight Caregiver - Assisted Living (Full time and Part time)

ABOUT US & THE ROLE

We are a boutique residential care home located in the beautiful coastal community of San Clemente. We are not a "facility" in the traditional sense; we are a home. Our 6-bed residence is owner-operated and dedicated to providing a level of care that feels like family.

We are currently seeking a reliable Awake Overnight Caregiver to watch over our residents on weekends. This is a role built on trust and vigilance. While the residents are resting, you are the guardian of the home—ensuring safety, handling nighttime needs with compassion, and maintaining the household.

We are looking for a true "night owl"—someone who stays alert and proactive during quiet hours. If you are efficient with household tasks, gentle during late-night care, and capable of managing emergencies with a calm head, we would love to meet you.

DETAILED JOB FUNCTIONS

Awake & Alert Supervision: You are required to remain awake and alert for the entire shift to ensure the safety of the residents and the security of the home.

Resident Care & Status Checks: Conduct regular rounds to check on resident status. Respond immediately to call lights or resident needs.

Incontinence Care: Provide dignified assistance with toileting and incontinence care as required by individual resident care plans (changing briefs, keeping residents dry and comfortable).

Housekeeping & Laundry: Because resident care is lighter at night, this role heavily focuses on household management. You will handle resident laundry, linens, and general housekeeping (dusting, mopping, sanitizing common areas) to ensure the home is spotless for the day shift.

Safety & Emergency: Act as the first responder for any nighttime emergencies. Perform CPR/First Aid if needed and execute Emergency and Evacuation Procedures.

Documentation: Accurately document logs, change of condition, and any incidents that occur during the night.

Morning Prep: Assist with very early morning routines to set the house up for a successful day

SCHEDULE & PAY STRUCTURE

Schedule: Full time and Part time available
Shift Hours: 10:00PM - 7:00AM
Base Rate: $17-$17.50 / hr + OT
Perks: Paid meal breaks (you remain on premises).

REQUIREMENTS

Experience: At least 1 year of previous caregiving experience preferred (RCFE/Memory Care).
Night Shift Capability: Must be able to demonstrate an ability to stay awake and active during overnight hours.
Clearance: Must pass DOJ/FBI criminal background check (Live Scan).
Certifications: Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Health: Proof of good health (Health Screening Report) and negative TB test.
Communication: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
