Job Description

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
Cloacina, LLC delivers packaged MBR solutions in municipal, developer, and industrial wastewater sectors. We bring the right expertise, resources, standard solutions and our passion for wastewater treatment to ensure delivery of successful projects. Through a tailored site construction management approach and Cloacina’s proven MEMPAC-M technology, we deliver projects for new treatment infrastructure construction.

Cloacina is seeking a Construction Manager that will coordinate internal and external resources to fulfill contractual project requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of project management including set up, fabrication resource management, construction management, jobsite safety, and overall project execution per plans, specifications, budget, and schedule. Typical project size can range from $2,000,000 to $10,000,000+. Travel is required on an as needed basis to support project deliverables and contractual scope.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Project Preconstruction & Kickoff
• Create project budgets
• Create phase codes for job costing
• Issue and negotiate POs and subcontracts
• Create schedule of values and corresponding AIA billing
• Conduct preconstruction meetings
• Procure and coordinate all site utilities and temporary facilities if required
• Coordinate and assist project mobilization

Project Execution
• Capable of running several small to mid-size projects at a time
• Expected to be knowledgeable, curious and studious regarding all aspects of the construction of water and wastewater facilities
• Works collaboratively with Production Project Manager counterpart at the Cloacina factory to build and deliver our flagship MEMPAC-M technology for their projects
• Required to notify management whenever something on the project of a significant nature could impact the safety of personnel, efficacy of the work, schedule, profitability or reputation and standing of Cloacina
• Sets the overall direction of the work on the project, primary planner, troubleshooter and decision maker for the project
• Vendor and Subcontractor accountability and dismissal if needed
• Responsible for building and maintaining a project team that successfully completes the project and enhances Cloacina’s long term capacity
• Monitor project budgets including monthly job cost projections, and maintain ultimate responsibility for the profitability of the projects
• Create, log and track RFIs
• Entry of monthly subcontractor calculations in financial tracking for accounting staff
• Author most project related correspondence
• Complete responsibility for executing and enforcing POs and subcontracts
• Prepare and process invoices including collections
• Maintain BOM and MES, responsible for all purchasing of materials for the projects including ensuring that all materials are on site as scheduled for the work
• Conduct all job site meetings with owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers
• and employees
• Responsible for ensuring safe work practices including JSA development, preplanning and engineering measures for safety
• Work with general contractors and/or subcontractors to ensure that the correct equipment is on site (including form systems), maintained and appropriately utilized minimizing rentals and maximizing productivity
• Ensure good housekeeping and that the operations are well planned and effectively and efficiently implemented (i.e. proper layout, limited rework, appropriate shoring & dewatering etc.)
• Ensure that the project is built in accordance with the contract documents and industry standards and functions for its intended use
• Be the main face of Cloacina upholding our culture and vision and as much as it depends upon Cloacina to leave the project with our excellent reputation for partnering and craftsmanship in place or enhanced
• Ultimately responsible for everything related to site construction on your project

Project Closeout
• Typically, the Startup Engineer for the project is responsible for generating the startup and training plans, coordinating and scheduling all parties and documenting the completion of all startup documentation
• Responsible for generating and processing final punch list with the owner’s representative
• Complete responsibility for closing out the project including closeout documentation and collection of retention
• Complete Cloacina internal project closeout documentation

NOTICE OF WORK ENVIRONMENT & OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS

The wastewater industry can be hazardous due to exposure to biological and chemical hazards, as well as physical dangers, including but not limited to, confined spaces, slips, falls, wet and/or humid conditions, high and/or low altitude, moving mechanical parts, high and/or precarious places, fumes and/or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, vibration, sewage, epoxy coatings, solvents, and excessive noise levels. Employees may come in contact with wastewater which contains human waste. Wastewater contains various bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause diseases in humans and animals. Workers can be exposed through contact with wastewater, aerosols containing pathogens, or contaminated equipment. Wastewater treatment processes also involve the use of various chemicals, some of which can be toxic or corrosive. It is imperative that employees wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols. While not mandatory, it is also highly recommended that employees stay current with vaccinations, including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and Diphtheria.
